Electronic Technician

Duties:  Developed test process and procedures that are used for CDLS Data Link Systems operating within different frequencies of KU and X wideband for the transmission of intelligence data.  Provided leadership and technical expertise in the analysis, testing, and debugging of analog and RF systems which consists of various drawers and racks.  Tested various military training  hardware such as AT4s and MILES 2000 gear. Also tested different types of cables such as Fiber Optics, Telecom and custom Cables used to connect the CDLS Data Link System. Skilled in other Environmental testing such as  ESD, Burn-In Test, Non-Op-Magnetic, and Shock & Vibe, Thermal Cycling Chambers. Help provide failure analyses on prototypes when they did not meet specs.

Compliance Test Engineer

Duties:  Responsible for Electrical Safety testing, such as, circuit breakers, ground fault systems , Power Supplies, inspecting products for conformity assessment with International Regulations with the end result being a certificate of conformance, technical report, or test report for the client. Prepared CB reports and documentation for certification of customer products to the appropriate agencies such as UL, CSA and VDE. Also Coordinated laboratory activities by testing, preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduled, reviewed, and established completion dates of work for laboratory and engineering support staff. Coordinate/perform all lab equipment calibrations and test fixtures verification per OSHA requirements.

Manufacturing  Technician

Duties: Troubleshooting and Maintaining Digital Photo Printers/Systems mechanically-

electronically. Installing, repairing, rebuilding and testing various printer subsystems.

Insure all related paperwork is complete for work performed on ECO’s (Engineering

Change Orders). Building SDMs (System Data Manager) installing Workstations,

Hard-drives ,Memory, Zip-Drives and other computer accessories as part of the options

package.  Conducts verification testing of lab equipment, also downloading of new

firmware and code and installing end-users software. In addition, assist QA with setup

& test functions, which include performing PVT (Product Verification Testing).

7/98 - 4/02  Underwriters Laboratories Inc., San Diego, CA

Engineering Associate

Duties: Manage and execute timely completion of basic Electrical Safety Testing of Power Supplies and other equipment/components by analyzing project scope and determining project specifications, establishing test programs for product investigations, analyzing test programs for adequacy and sequence, examining clients’ samples for compliance with UL requirements, and preparing UL reports also troubleshooting failure analyses on electronic or electro-mechanical devices/products to give feed back to customers when products did not meet UL requirements.

Developed a preliminary plan of investigation and determines project specifications such as cost, time and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product constructions.

Coordinated laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduled, reviewed, and established completion dates of work for laboratory technicians and engineering support staff.

Established the Regulatory Lab for the UL San Diego office. Responsible for purchasing all necessary lab equipment/meters and software to perform the entire gamut of safety testing from prototypes to certifications.

Technician

Duties: Under general supervision, assists in the design, layout, testing and evaluation of electronics or electro-mechanical devices or systems used in the All In One product line.  Responsible for regulatory testing on different types of electronics/electro-mechanical components, including Power Supplies that were used in the research and development of All In One fax machine. Testing was completed utilizing specialized test equipment that met the requirements of various applicable Regulatory Standards. Final tests results and reports were generated in the presence of a Safety Engineer from one of the various Regulatory Agencies (UL, TUV, Nemko, CSA) using word processors and spreadsheets with graphics capabilities.

Also skilled in other Environmental testing such as Package Drop, ESD, Burn-In Test, Non-Op-Magnetic, and Shock & Vibe, Thermal Cycling Chambers. Help provide failure analyses on prototypes when they did not meet HP specs.

Established the Regulatory Lab for HID Division.  Responsible for purchasing all necessary test equipment and software to perform the entire gamut of regulatory testing from prototypes to final products that were used to obtain different regulatory marks.
